So now my hole
is in
good working order. Its time to shoot things out of it. I started with
various birds for my kitties to eat. A cleverly placed bird feeder
facilitated this.
I spent quite a few nights in the hole while my poor pregnant wife
cowered in fear at the house. It was worth it though. I got to see lots
of deer playing around and a pair of racoons. I put corn right in front
of the window. I mean inches away. I could fall asleep in the hole and
the deer would wake me up with corn munching noises. I never could get
a pic of them that close though. You had to muffle your breething and
if you did anything that made noise they would get spooked and walk
off. They could hear my camera turning on. It was very very cool
though. Here are a few pics. All you can see are the eyes reflecting in
the flash, sorry.

Oh no, its coming for me!! (its just Belle Dog)

Now one day
when I was in my hole eating 'pig in the blanket'.

I heard something moving around by the window. I looked over and
thought I saw a mouse's head but it turns out it was a snake. I grabbed
my camera and my little 9mm carbine. Here is Mr. Snake just before he
met his demise.

I tried to film it but I hit the wrong buttons on my camera and missed
it.
In any case the bullet struck him just behind the head and he was out
of it pretty quick. I think the sneaky bastard was goign for my 'pig in
the blankets'!!!!

He wasnt very big, you can get an idea of scale by my foot and pocket
knife.

You can see how close to the window he was in this pic. That line to
the right of him is the window 'hood'. It was difficult to get my gun
in position to pop him from the inside.

Close up of the dead guy.

Oh yeah. That dirty bastard was going to kill me, then eat my 'pig in
the blanket'. You can see his venom leaking down my pocket knife. Its a
copperhead.
