Set back from the street, this home is one of the oldest in the Louisiana Purchase. With a wide gallery with hand pegged beams and a wood shingle roof. The authenticity of the home is retained with the original bousillage walls. This house was built by Gabriel Buard circa 1776 and continued in his family until it wad purchased by Dr. and Mrs. W.T. Williams to be used as a home and doctor's office.
The Wells family purchased the building in 1963, and they made the restoration. Entrance from the gallery goes directly into the living area with its two massive fireplaces.
